Swedish defence company Saab has received an order for the maintenance and modernisation of the TAURUS KEPD 350 cruise missile. The contract, valued at SEK 1.7 billion (EUR 150 million), will run from 2025 to 2035.

The order includes extensive system upgrades and modernisation for the German Air Force’s TAURUS missiles. It also covers a ten-year life cycle maintenance programme to ensure long-term operational effectiveness.

Saab received the order from TAURUS Systems, the German prime contractor responsible for the missile system. TAURUS Systems is a joint venture between MBDA Germany and Saab, with the order initially placed by Germany’s defence procurement office (BAAINBw).

“TAURUS KEPD 350 enables the user to defeat targets at long ranges required for the most demanding air operations. The latest upgrades will provide the German Air Force with significant improvements,” said Görgen Johansson, Head of Saab’s business area Dynamics.

The TAURUS KEPD 350 is an air-launched cruise missile designed for precision strikes against fortified and high-value static ground targets. With a range exceeding 500 km, it enhances the operational capabilities of the German Air Force in complex combat scenarios.
