Turkish defence company ASELSAN secures major radar systems contract

Turkish defence company ASELSAN has been awarded a contract by the Defence Industry Presidency (SSB) for the supply of next-generation radar systems. The contract is valued at USD 107.4 million and is set to be fulfilled between 2026 and 2030.

To support the development of advanced radar technology, ASELSAN is constructing a new manufacturing facility in Ankara. The company states that this investment will amount to several hundred million dollars.

Alongside the new radar systems, Aselsan is also developing advanced software solutions. These systems will integrate radars with reconnaissance, airspace management, and command systems, ensuring security through domestically produced technology.

Unofficial sources suggest that the contract includes the ALP 300-G, Turkey’s first long-range early warning radar system. Designed for the Air Force, this S-band radar features an active electronically scanned array (AESA) and can be deployed on various mobile platforms.

Another radar reportedly included in the deal is the ALP 100-G, a scalable low-altitude air surveillance system. Also operating in the S-band with AESA technology, this radar can function independently or fill gaps in long-range radar coverage.

In addition to radar systems, ASELSAN signed a separate contract with SSB in early March for next-generation electronic warfare systems. This agreement, valued at USD 54 million, is scheduled for delivery in 2028.
