Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C) has been awarded an USD 86.8 million contract by the U.S. Army to develop advanced software prototypes for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). The five-year agreement aims to enhance Guam's defence operations by integrating next-generation weapons and sensors under the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office (PEO) Missiles and Space.

The contract was awarded through an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) framework, allowing for faster development and deployment of new technologies. Ultra I&C’s role is to improve software capabilities for air defence operations, ensuring the U.S. Army maintains a technological edge against evolving threats.

Ultra I&C will integrate its ADSI® software platform, which supports Link-16 interoperability, military-standard (MIL-STD) data links, and force operations data. This software will be embedded within the IBCS architecture to provide seamless connectivity between various defence systems.

According to Randy Fields, Chief Technology Officer at Ultra I&C, the company’s approach to innovative acquisition pathways allows for close collaboration with defence partners. He stated that this contract demonstrates Ultra I&C’s ability to deliver advanced technologies, leading to faster innovation and improved operational capabilities.
