The first Embraer C-390 Millennium medium transport aircraft for the Czech Republic has arrived in Prague after delivery by the Brazilian manufacturer. The aircraft is the first example delivered to the new customer.

The aircraft carried the civil registration PT-CNM during the delivery flight and left Embraer’s facilities in Gavião Peixoto on 4 July. The flight lasted a total of 14 hours and included two stopovers.

After landing at Václav Havel International Airport in Prague, the aircraft was transferred two hours later to the military airfield at Kbely. The airfield is located in the north-eastern part of the Czech capital.

The contract with Embraer was signed on 25 October 2024 and has a total value of CZK 11.3 billion. In addition to the aircraft, the deal includes personnel training, the necessary ground support equipment and a spare parts package.

The Czech side also ordered modules enabling air-to-air refuelling and the MAFFS II firefighting system. The pair of C-390 Millennium aircraft will strengthen the transport capacity of Czech military aviation, which is currently based mainly on four Airbus C-295MW aircraft and two Airbus A319CJ aircraft.

So far, deliveries have covered 14 serial-production C-390 aircraft. These aircraft have been delivered to Brazil, Portugal and Hungary.

The order book includes 43 aircraft, most of which are intended for European customers. The global C-390 fleet has flown nearly 22,000 hours.
