In a concerted effort to fortify its defence, Kyiv has been exploring various avenues to enhance domestic arms production and foster innovation within the sector. According to Oleksandr Kamyshin, during a televised conference in Kyiv, the initiative sees the collaboration of 100 state-owned and 400 private companies. The focus for the current year is on significantly increasing ammunition production to meet the rising demands of the conflict.
Adding to the advancements in the defence sector, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Digital Minister, highlighted the country’s achievement in drone technology, stating that 90% of drones utilized in combat against Russian forces are domestically produced. This marks a crucial step in Ukraine’s strategy to maintain a technological edge on the battlefield.
Furthermore, Ukraine’s commitment to regional stability and security was underscored by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, who assured that throughout the two years of the conflict, there has been strict control over arms exports, with no weapons crossing into the European Union.
