Lockheed Martin has been awarded a USD 3.36 billion contract modification by the U.S. Navy to provide logistics support services for F-35 Lightning II aircraft. The contract will benefit both domestic military branches and international customers, marking a significant investment in the sustainment of the advanced fighter jets.

The contract covers a wide range of activities, including ground maintenance, depot operations, supply chain management, and pilot training. Additionally, it includes the operation and maintenance of the automatic logistics information system, ensuring seamless support for the F-35 programme.

Work under this agreement will take place across multiple states, including Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and California. The contract extends through December 2025, ensuring long-term operational readiness for the F-35 fleet.

This modification will support the F-35 aircraft used by the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as partner nations and foreign military sales customers. Funding for the contract comes from a combination of fiscal 2025 U.S. operations and maintenance budgets, contributions from non-Department of Defence partners, and foreign military sales revenue.

The Naval Air Systems Command will oversee the execution of the contract, which highlights the global reliance on the F-35 as a cornerstone of modern air combat capabilities. This agreement reflects ongoing efforts to ensure the aircraft remains mission-ready for diverse operational requirements.
